Job Summary:

The Education Department at a juvenile correctional facility seeks a Teaching Assistant to supervise students in the absence of the classroom teacher. Key responsibilities include attendance taking, behavior monitoring, assignment oversight, and maintaining daily records. The Teaching Assistant will guide students in completing assignments and support classroom instruction as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage classroom activities and ensure a safe learning environment.
• Follow policies to prevent incidents and maintain confidentiality.
• Supervise student work and evaluate individual achievements.
• Collaborate with other departments to enhance student learning.
• Attend required training and provide written reports to multidisciplinary treatment teams.
• Maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and the community.

Qualifications:

• Ability to implement lesson plans and create a supportive learning environment.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
• Must pass drug tests and complete all required training and certifications.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
