Please Note: The goal of this position is to provide group fitness instruction to children, teens or adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in a group setting. Depending on the age, goals and limitations of the member and/or participants, some individual instruction may be necessary.

What does a Small Group Trainer do?
The Small Group/Certification Trainer instructs group classes in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that promotes member wellness and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. Instructor must role model the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility and work daily to develop personal and meaningful relationships with members, volunteers, donors and community.
- Promote programs to members and participants
- Plan and deliver educational group classes
- Instruct classes in accordance with standards and best practices of the format
- Record participant counts, distribute and collect program evaluations
- Maintain minimum class attendance standard
- Provides exceptional customer service and fosters connections with members
- Participating and satisfactory completion of in-service trainings
- Create an environment that is welcoming, nurturing, and inclusive for all members and guests
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Required certifications: Nationally Recognized Group Exercise Certification (ACE, NASM, ISSA, NETA, AFAA) and/or specialized format certification (SilverSneakers, Zumba, LesMills, etc.)
- Previous work experience in related role preferred
- Complete required certifications within 30 days of hire
- Complete all required Branch and Position specific trainings as required within two weeks of hire
- Ability to obtain a criminal record clearance
Salary : $1,500
