What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automation Controls Engineer position at Channel Personnel Services?
Our global manufacturing leader is searching for an Automation/ Controls Engineer to develop and implement advanced process control/ system strategies with significant focus on the equipment reliability programs (preventive and predictive maintenance). Requires proficiency in leading RCAs and FMEAs.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Ø Develop, support, and implement advanced process control strategies to provide operational improvements, reliability, and integrity.
Ø Monitor and analyze repetitive maintenance problems. Determine the RCA for equipment failures, initiate equipment, or procedural changes to correct.
Ø Develop and optimize the Preventive & Predictive Maintenance Plans.
Ø Lead RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and FMECA (Failure Mode & Effect Criticality Analysis).
Ø Resolve the system problems related to the DCS and other automated production equipment.
Ø Responsible for electrical and instrumentation components, review specifications and recommend replacement for obsolete parts, following change control.
Ø Develop plans to improve efficiency, process times, reduce labor, material costs, reduce maintenance costs and control budgets.
Ø Implement changes to SAP Plant Maintenance System.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
v BS or AS degree in Electrical Engineering with 5 years’ experience in process control, automation, and electrical engineering in a manufacturing plant.
v Experience with equipment installation, preventative maintenance and equipment troubleshooting.
v Advanced problem solving and troubleshooting skills related to PLCs, DCS, motor controls, instrumentation, and electrical equipment.
