What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chemical Sales Account Manager position at Channel Personnel Services?
Ø Consulting with the technical group to draw on their expertise to develop technically sound and commercially competitive proposals.
Ø Effectively communicate with Customer Service and credit to ensure new customer setup is completed efficiently.
Ø Interact effectively with the Global Business Manager and other account managers, providing and receiving market intelligence.
Ø Account management at all levels of our customer’s organization (procurement, plant operations, corporate engineering) delivering monthly forecast and pricing implementation in line with Business Manager guidelines.
Ø Develop new opportunities with existing customers or new customers, these strategies may look forward 2 years and include prospecting, participating in market development initiatives. Maintain relationships with non-active customers and work effectively channels to market.
Ø Develop technical – economical proposals for existing customers or potential customers. Work with the technical service group communicating project needs including level of service, customer technical alternatives and timing. Reading, understanding, and commenting on simulation reports or running simulation as needed.
Ø Manage the project cycle from inquiry, engineering, construction, start up. Track projects progress. Implement proper communication to the business including forecasting the first fill and the required technical services for startup.
Ø Work with GAS/SPEC distributors implementing pricing, forecasting demand and training in GAS/SPEC product offering.
Ø Build GAS/SPEC brand loyalty by referencing successful accounts operations. Developing proper communication tools for internal and external audiences.
Ø Prioritize potential accounts based on expected returns and ensure priorities are communicated and aligned with the global strategy.
Ø Collaborate on projects, products, and services as needed by the group.
Ø Participate in industry papers, panel, or presentations. Enhancing technical savvy and promoting GAS/SPEC Technology.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
v Bachelor’s Degree or higher in engineering, preferred Chemical Engineering.
v Minimum 5 years’ industry experience in gas processing, chemical industry, or refining preferred.
v 2 or more years’ experience in a customer-facing position. Company wants to hire someone currently
living in the Houston, TX area.
v Comfortable presenting information formally & informally in both small and large group settings.
v Fluency in French or Spanish is a plus
v Successful negotiation & influencing skills, strong analytic skills, and attention to detail.
v Proficient in chemical reaction, and chemical unit operations (distillation, flash separation, compression, heat exchange)
v Knowledge in amine process simulation preferred
v Confident use of (but not limited to) Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint.
v Can manage potential and existing customers through relationship building and negotiation skills.
