What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Project Construction Manager position at Channel Personnel Services?
We’re looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead projects for this client from pre-construction to completion, ensuring they’re delivered on time, on budget, and up to our high standards. You’ll be the engine behind the construction operations, working closely with the company owner, field teams, superintendents, and subcontractors to ensure excellence across all phases of a project.
- Drive projects to completion—on time, on budget, and to spec
- Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, vendors, and inspections
- Monitor job site safety and construction quality control
- Lead meetings with subcontractors and internal teams
- Review project plans, track progress, and manage budgets
- Help bid new work and evaluate potential cost-saving opportunities
- Mentor Project Managers and Junior Project Managers within the company
- Foster strong communication across all levels—internal and external
- Take ownership of project outcomes and continuously look for ways to improve
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering
- 10 or more years experience
- PMP or equivalent certification preferred
- Multifamily and / or Student Housing experience needed
- Solid experience in commercial construction, including budgeting, scheduling, and safety management
- Strong leadership skills and proven ability to manage teams and timelines
- Comfortable on-site, in the office, and everywhere in between
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and deadline-driven
- Excellent communicator—able to collaborate with trades, clients, and senior leadership alike
