What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controls Instrumentation Engineer position at Channel Personnel Services?
Ø Design, procure, implement, and maintain all process control systems at the plant, 3 operating units.
Ø Develop and implement new DCS and PLC configurations for process control.
Ø Modify existing DCS and PLC configurations for process control.
Ø Edit DCS and PLC operating parameters when requested by operations personnel.
Ø Maintain control system equipment service agreements, schedule, and oversee service work.
Ø Design, procure, and implement process instrumentation projects.
Ø Develop construction packages and oversee construction activities for IEC projects.
Ø Provide equipment, labor, and construction information to other project engineering personnel.
Ø Maintain functionality of daily reports generated by the data historian and other systems.
Ø Maintain data and system backups and perform/oversee backup and recovery functions.
Ø Maintain a high level of documentation for all systems and provide training where appropriate.
Ø Monitor and maintain process controllers, communications, and I/O equipment.
Ø Monitor and maintain process control HMI displays and HIS stations.
Ø Work with operations to perform and document testing of emergency shutdown systems.
Ø The items listed below may not typically be included in a traditional Instrument & Control Systems Engineer’s responsibilities, however, the person currently in this position performs these services. Candidates with additional experience similar to any of these areas are preferrable.
Ø Assist other personnel in the design, procurement, and installation of electrical equipment.
Ø Design, implement, and maintain various automated report servers and their resulting emailed process and environmental reports (Exaquantum, RPTSVR01).
Ø Monitor and maintain the commercial daily energy market report data report (Platts).
Ø Monitor and maintain site Emergency Personnel Accountability System (EP01).
Ø Monitor and maintain site Security Access Systems, aka badging systems: Keyscan, VSAxxes.
Ø Monitor and maintain site cameras, recording, and notification systems (NVR04/NVR05).
Ø Monitor and maintain site electronic message boards and video monitoring devices (approx. 25).
Ø Assist in maintenance of Weather Reporting and Historian System (Davis Instruments).
Ø Assist in maintenance of plant power monitoring and event reporting system (ION).
Ø Assist in maintenance of in-plant data network equipment used for non-process related communications.
Ø In addition to many familiar systems and software items commonly used in industry, client uses various custom systems that were designed by in-house personnel over many years. An ability to learn and, in some cases, take eventual ownership of these systems is preferred.
REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS
v DCS and HIS development, configuration, maintenance. Yokogawa Centum VP, CS3000 or similar.
v PLC and HMI development, programming, maintenance. Allen Bradley-Rockwell, GE-Emerson or similar.
v CONTROLS SOFTWARE: DCS sequence, conditional tables, ladder logic, and graphics configuration (Yokogawa System View experience desirable, Ladder logic & HMI design using AB-Rockwell Studio 5000/FactoryTalk, and GE-Emerson PAC Machine Edition desirable).
v DATA HISTORIAN configuration and maintenance. Yokogawa Exaquantum, Pi, or similar.
v PC SYSTEMS such as Windows desktops and servers (hardened & virtualized).
v COMMUNICATIONS: Ethernet IP, Modbus, HART communications.
v PROCESS INSTRUMENTATION: Design, specification, and procurement of process instrumentation.
v SOFTWARE: MS Office products, including MS Excel and MS Visio (SQL, VBA, and other coding/scripting desirable).
