What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Power Distribution Engineer position at Channel Personnel Services?
Ø Assist with development and implementation of technical training for the electricians and act as a mentor for the electricians.
Ø Make sure all requirements of the Routine Maintenance Process are utilized consistently and effectively to continuously improve the process.
Ø Inspect existing and new medium voltage installations to ensure the process equipment complies with safety, energy, and pollution control requirements.
Ø Responsible for the reliability of the power distribution system.
Ø Perform all aspects of outage planning for major electrical projects.
Ø Manage and review bids for equipment and labor and work with contractors to ensure highest standards of quality and safety are maintained during project execution
Ø Work with maintenance personnel for designing and troubleshooting electrical problems with various equipment in the plant, including motor starters and vendor control packages. Must be able to read and draw electrical schematics and one-lines.
Ø Periodically review the site electrical procedures for accuracy and compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements. Provide training to technicians on any changes as required
Ø Develop job scope and cost estimates for new projects and write documents to fund projects. Work with production and area supervisors on project requirements and modify scope as needed to implement within a limited budget.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
v Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or Electronic Engineering Technology or the equivalent with 2 years of experience.
v Applicable electrical engineering experience in a manufacturing plant.
v Experience working with consulting engineers.
v Capable of handling multiple assignments up to $10,000,000 value.
v High proficiency in Microsoft applications (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
v Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
v Ability to read, write and speak in English.
v Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work as part of a team.
