What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instrument Electrical Reliability Engineer position at Channel Personnel Services?
A leading global chemical company is looking for an experienced I/E Reliability Engineer for its petrochemical production facility Commutable from the southeast Houston area. The I/E Maintenance Engineer plays a crucial role in maintaining and improving the safety and reliability of electrical distribution equipment and instrumentation throughout the site.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Ø Assist the site I&E maintenance team as an engineering resource.
Ø Lead and /or serve on root cause failure analysis and incident investigation teams.
Ø Develop detailed work scopes for engineered projects.
Ø Develop maintenance work procedures and preventive maintenance procedures.
Ø Demonstrate knowledge of NEC, NESC, NFPA 70B, and NFPA 70E.
Ø Working knowledge of power system analysis and protective relays.
Ø Investigate instrument failures and issue recommendations to eliminate further occurrences.
Ø Participate in Process Safety Management process.
Ø Provide engineering support for SIS implementation projects, TARs, and capital projects.
Ø Provide troubleshooting assistance for unusual or persistent I&E problems.
Ø Apply site I&E engineering technical procedures and national standards.
Ø Work with operations, engineering, and technicians to identify and prioritize reliability improvement.
Ø Read instrumentation loop sheets, P&ID drawings, one and three-line drawings.
Ø Read function block, ladder logic, and responsible for PLC program and narrative changes.
Ø Size and select instruments and control valves.
Ø Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ø Communicate daily with operations and maintenance persons in the field.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
v Education/Experience
§ Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is required.
§ 5 Years of experience
§ Experience with SKM power tool software is a plus.
§ Ability to troubleshoot motor controls through 4160 volts.
§ Size conduits, cables for motors, MCCs, feeders, etc.
§ Work with outside vendors on coordination, load flow, arc flash, and other studies related to the plant electrical system.
v Instrumentation
§ Experience with Triconex PLCs is a plus.
§ Ability to troubleshoot instrumentation loops from field to DCS systems.
§ Design and program control and interlock systems.
§ Size and select instruments and control valves.
