What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Manager position at Channel Personnel Services?
Develops and proposes plans for maintenance and engineering functions at the site which are in line with the business unit strategy. Develops operational action plans and implements controls which assure targets are met and business opportunities are identified, assessed and implemented within the framework of the global strategy of the business. Department budget of $12 million, 40 employees in the maintenance organization with 8 direct reports.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Ø Provides input to maintenance management policies, strategies and annual objectives for the site. Being an active member of site management team with collective responsibility for site performance.
Ø Develop and implement maintenance strategy, plans, objectives, and goals for the site.
Ø Contribute to the development of the maintenance strategy on the business unit level.
Ø Ensure compliance with relevant federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as corporate directives, standards, procedures, and guidance notes related to maintenance and inspections etc.
Ø Develop, manage, and ensure realization of the annual maintenance plan for the site, including cost budget. Be able to manage execution and deliver results in accordance with the plan.
Ø Manage maintenance work processes and systems/rules/procedures for the site.
Ø Attract, lead, coach, appraise and develop department employees. Ensure staffing & stimulate talent management.
Ø Be responsible for maintenance metrics and reporting.
Ø Manage maintenance department activities and employees in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and corporate rules.
Ø Keep up with internal and external developments and ensure development, transfer and retention of knowledge & info, including laws, regulations, corporate rules and best industry practices. This also includes development, implementation and continuous improvement of maintenance training programs and plans.
Ø Provide insights regarding quantitative and qualitative developments by means of periodical and ad-hoc reports and/or analyses for the site. Building and maintaining a network of internal and external stakeholders/partners and represent the site in maintenance matters.
Ø Help foster & build a strong relationship with other departments within the site & organization
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
v A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar field, preferably in chemical, or mechanical engineering.
v A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in the maintenance field with at least five (5) years’ direct experience in maintenance or process management in a chemical processing plant operations.
v Possess strong knowledge of chemical process equipment
v Supervisory experience required with demonstrated ability to manage, lead and motivate people; Ability to effectively delegate responsibility and manage the work activities of others
v Experience with Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing: Black Belt certification a plus
v Experience with developing site maintenance concepts and with standard maintenance work processes
Salary : $170,000 - $200,000
