What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Apprentice position at Channellock?
The primary duties of the Maintenance Apprentice involve all maintenance crafts work, such as installation and repair of equipment and facilities using drawings of electrical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, mechanical systems, buildings, and structures.
Processes and procedures employees are expected to follow are located in the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for each machine and function the associates perform. All associates are expected to read and understand the SOP prior to utilizing equipment or performing job-related tasks.
Typical job duties include :
- Responsible for diagnosing breakdowns of equipment and facilities.
- Determining procedures to be used to carry out the repair using drawings, maintenance manuals, manufacturer's manuals, and instructions.
- Use the principles of rigging and equipment installation.
- Responsible for any maintenance personnel assigned to the job.
- Must be willing to support ongoing maintenance activities on any shift, including weekends as needed with reasonable notice.
