Role Overview : The Field Engineering Team is seeking a highly motivated and talented scientist or engineer to join our team in the research and development of cutting-edge RF (radio frequency) systems. With a deep understanding of our engineering, technology, and customers' missions, this individual will help develop and implement our products with customers. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design, development, and deployment of innovative RF capabilities, with a focus on enhancing systems, sensors, and platforms for national security applications including UAS (Unmanned Aerial Systems) surveillance systems. Responsibilities :
As part of a multi-disciplinary team, the candidate will engage in RF prototyping, from initial systems analysis and rapid system fabrication, through advanced signal processing while collaborating closely with experts in various technical domains. Successful prototyping activities will be fielded in a relevant operating environment and will demonstrate real-time, working systems. This role involves developing novel algorithms, performing data analysis, and building advanced hardware and system solutions.
The role will rely on experience fulfilling the following responsibilities :
- Architect and design advanced RF receiver and transmitter systems (e.g. pulsed and continuous wave (CW), low probability of intercept (LPI))
- Apply novel algorithms and signal processing techniques to improve system performance in emerging mission areas, including but not limited to digital beamforming, constant false alarm rate (CFAR), monopulse, clutter mitigation, and correlation analysis.
- Utilize lab-based RF measurement tools, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, and AC / DC power supplies
- Understand and explain the differences between existing radar system capabilities for technical and non-technical audiences
- Travel up to 25% domestically and internationally in pursuit of above goals
- Collaborate with team members at company headquarters when not traveling
