What are the responsibilities and job description for the Firestop Installer position at Chaparral Company?
- Installs caulking at Penetrations and Joints using a bulk caulk gun, pulling product out of buckets, using ‘sausage’ packs, or standard tubes.
- Inspect their work to ensure installation was done per UL Design.
- Ability to read blue prints/life safety drawings.
- Access to Penetrations and Joints may require use of boom lifts, scissor lifts, swing stage, scaffolds, and ladders.
- Duties of this job will require employee to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; as well as climb or balance and talk or hear.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Past firestop experience preferred
- Must have form of dependable transportation; must be able to travel out of town, both on overnight and one day trips
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred
- Fall Protection. Forklift, Boom Lift, Scissor Lift certification preferred
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
