What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Assistant position at Chaparral Company?
- Process and manage weekly disbursement of multi-state payroll, including garnishments.
- Handle all status changes such as terminations, transfers, and promotions.
- Prepare and manage weekly certified payroll reports.
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies promptly.
- Ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing.
- Perform other payroll-related duties as required.
- Extensive knowledge of payroll functions, including preparation, balancing, internal controls.
- Professional demeanor, integrity, confidentiality, and a commitment to fostering a positive company culture.
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills with a proactive approach to process improvements.
- Effective communication skills for working with diverse individuals and groups.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and self-direct work.
- Experience handling payroll for multiple sites and offsite employees.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Vista Experience preferred
