Position Overview
Chaparral is seeking an experienced Scaffold Builder to construct, position, and dismantle wooden structures such as scaffolds, concrete forms, tunnel supports, and temporary frames in accordance with blueprints, sketches, and company standards.
.Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Assemble scaffolding components, including handrails, mid rails, braces, planks, toe boards, screens, locking pins, and wheels, to meet job specifications or company standards.
- Erect scaffolding for buildings and structures, ensuring the installation of ladders, handrails, and walkways.
- Clean and prepare worksites, remove debris and materials, and load/unload scaffolding equipment.
- Observe and adhere to all safety protocols and project regulations.
- Conduct job site safety assessments (JSAs) and ensure proper documentation for safety, inspection, and inventory.
- Perform final inspections (tagging) of completed scaffolding.
- Lead a team of crew members and perform other duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements
- 5 plus years of progressive responsibility in scaffold construction.
- Strong ability to work with precision and accuracy.
- Proficient in mathematics, problem-solving, and decision-making based on measurable criteria.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings.
- Experience with and training on scaffold-building tools.
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel as required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work at heights and perform tasks without fear.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, climb ladders, stoop, kneel, crouch, and balance.
- Frequently lift/move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
- Regularly use hands for handling tools, equipment, and materials.
- Ability to assemble, dismantle, and install scaffolding structures effectively.
