About Chapel Gate Swim Club:
Chapel Gate Swim Club is a family focused swim and tennis club with two hard courts and one platform court. We’ve been running our tennis program for years and have a well established membership to our swim club. Our tennis program is designed to foster a love of the game among children and adults while emphasizing skill development, fitness, and fun.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Tennis Instructor to lead our kids' tennis camps and adult clinics. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tennis instruction, excellent communication skills, and a genuine enthusiasm for teaching players of all ages and skill levels. The incoming pro will have a chance to help shape the growth of our racquet program and develop new clinics as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
Kids Camps (10 weeks):
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate tennis lessons for children aged 4–14.
- Organize fun drills, games, and activities that develop tennis skills, coordination, and teamwork.
- Create a safe and inclusive environment where children feel encouraged to learn and enjoy the sport.
- Monitor and mentor participants, offering constructive feedback and fostering a positive attitude toward tennis.
We currently have 3 sessions. “Peewee” for 30 minutes, beginner for 1 hour, and intermediate 1 hour.
Adult Clinics:
- Develop and conduct group clinics tailored to varying skill levels, from beginners to advanced players.
- Teach proper technique, strategies, and match play in a supportive and professional manner.
- Adapt instruction to meet the individual needs and goals of adult participants.
We previously offered clinics Thursday evening and Saturday mornings but can adjust with the incoming pro.
General Duties:
- Maintain courts and ensure all equipment is in good condition.
- Promote sportsmanship, enthusiasm, and a love for the game among participants.
- Communicate effectively with parents, members, and staff about schedules, progress, and program updates.
- Support and uphold the mission and values of Chapel Gate Swim Club.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a tennis instructor or coach, preferably in a camp or clinic setting.
- USPTA or PTR certification is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of tennis fundamentals, techniques, and strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage both kids and adults.
- Energetic, patient, and organized, with a passion for teaching tennis.
- Able to pass clearances to work and instruct our youth
- Availability during camp and clinic hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
Compensation:
- Incoming pro will receive 100% of member revenue for adult clinics and private or semi private lessons
- Incoming pro will receive a revenue share of kids camp after threshold is met
- Kids camp instruction is $50/hour for the pro and $30/hour for the assistant
The Opportunity
While we have a strong foundation in our swim membership and growing racquet community, this opportunity is perfect for someone who wants to help mold our racquet programming with the incoming racquet board chair. This could be adding or updating existing clinics, ideating on promotional strategy, organizing additional programs, and more. The instructor will have both the support from the board as well as autonomy to build out the program to the next level.
Job Type: Seasonal
Pay: $50.00 - $80.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 12.5 per week
