Title: EC Student Career Coach
Hourly Salary: $16.05
Benefits: Full benefits including paid holidays, sick leave and annual leave, health insurance and retirement. Local supplement of 5.5% starts the month after completion of first year. State longevity after 10 years of service.
Qualifications:
All applicants must be designated as “Highly Qualified”. 48 college credits or 7 credits in core subject matter and passing WorkKeys test scores.
Job Goal:
Under supervision assist in the acquisition of job skills and job development, as well as monitoring on-the-job performance of student with disabilities. Assist with the planning, organizing and implementing of an instructional program focused on job development. Provide support for clerical, technical, and general instructional functions.
Report to: Employment Specialist or designee, Students’ principals, transition facilitators, and EC program administrator
Performance Responsibilities:
Assist with planning and organizing, evaluating instructional activities, developing procedures and preparing necessary materials.
Assist in ensuring a safe and healthful environment.
Demonstrate clerical and technical skills necessary to assist in the implementation of the program.
Work to communicate the needs of the program and the students. Assist students with the understanding of rules and regulations.
Assist with Community-based instruction.
Train and job coach the student to meet the employer standards and expectations as established.
Work to resolve obstacles to student work performance, e.g., social interaction conflicts, transportation issues, and changes in job expectations.
Participate in Transition Team Meetings for the purpose of providing information on student progress.
Conduct data collection (evaluations, hours, etc.)
Move to indirect monitoring while role modeling employee behaviors, as student develops job skills.
Participate in staff development
Maintain student confidentiality
Perform other related work as required within the Exceptional Children’s Department
Terms of Employment: Ten-month year; work schedule determined by supervisor. Salary in accordance with adopted schedule
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of teachers.
