Director of Buildings and Grounds
Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall School, a grade 7-12 independent day and boarding school on 42 acres in Waltham, MA, is seeking an experienced Director of Buildings and Grounds. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, responsibilities will include planning, administration, and management of campus projects. The Director is responsible for daily coordination of workflow for the team, capital project planning and management, preventative and deferred maintenance oversight, event support, record-keeping, correspondence, budget management, and coordination and oversight of outside contractors.
Successful candidates must have keen organizational and communication skills, the ability to manage multiple projects, and strong long-term planning skills. This candidate will need to effectively engage and coordinate with multiple constituents to support events and day-to-day work.
This is a hands-on position and additional responsibilities may include winter weather management, light plumbing, painting, small engine repair, equipment maintenance, event set-up, carpentry, and general buildings and grounds maintenance.
A minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in maintenance or a related field is required, as well as proven team leadership experience. The ideal candidate has previous experience in plant and property management on a school campus. Prior experience with a work order system is necessary. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, be able to lift up to 100 lbs., and are subject to a background check.
