Position Title: Learning Lab Specialist (Math/Reading Intervention and Instructional Coaching)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Learning Lab Specialist to join our team in providing targeted math or reading support and intervention for students in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade. This role will involve delivering Tier 3 math/reading interventions, assisting teachers with Tier paperwork, facilitating math/reading instruction in the learning lab, and providing instructional coaching to support teachers in their delivery of high-quality math/reading instruction. The Learning Lab Specialist will work collaboratively with teachers to analyze student data and develop effective lesson plans that address student needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tier 3 Math/Reading Intervention:
- Provide individualized and small-group Tier 3 math interventions to students in need of intensive support.
- Design and implement targeted interventions based on student data and specific needs.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction as necessary to ensure growth.
- Work with the special education team to align interventions for students with IEPs.
- Assist with Tier Paperwork:
- Support teachers in completing and maintaining accurate Tier documentation for students receiving interventions.
- Assist with gathering data, completing progress reports, and preparing for Tier meetings.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation in line with district and state requirements.
- Facilitate Math/Reading Instruction in the Learning Lab:
- Plan and facilitate engaging, hands-on math/reading lessons in the Learning Lab for small groups of students.
- Work with students on math/reading concepts ranging from basic skills to grade-level proficiency, using various instructional methods and materials.
- Create a positive and motivating learning environment that encourages student participation and growth.
- Instructional Coaching (Grades K-5):
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to provide instructional coaching and support for math/reading instruction.
- Assist teachers in implementing effective strategies for differentiated instruction and supporting diverse learners.
- Data Analysis and Lesson Planning Support:
- Analyze student data to identify trends, areas of improvement, and instructional needs.
- Collaborate with teachers to assist in creating differentiated lesson plans and setting measurable goals for student success.
- Provide feedback and recommendations for adjusting math/reading instruction based on data.
- Collaborative Teamwork:
- Work closely with teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure alignment of intervention efforts with school-wide goals.
- Participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and professional development activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics/Reading Specialist, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Valid teaching certification
- Strong background in elementary math/reading instruction, including experience with Tier 3 interventions and data analysis.
- Experience with mentoring teachers is highly desirable.
- Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt to students' varying learning needs.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and collaborative skills.
- Experience with educational technology and tools for data tracking and lesson planning (e.g., Google Classroom, data management systems, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
- Ability to work in a classroom environment with frequent interaction with students and staff.
- Occasional lifting of materials and supplies.
- Comfortable with using technology for lesson planning, data analysis, and communication.
