PURPOSE
To provide custodial services to an active and growing church. The Facilities Coordinator is responsible for general cleaning and room setups in all areas of the facility and is able to perform work at a rate consistent with recognized industry standards. The Facilities Coordinator will work closely with volunteers and help build more teams to complete the day-to-day operations of the facility. The Facilities Coordinator will communicate any and all changes, needs, and requests regularly with the Director of Environments and Facilities.
Job Responsibilities
Custodial (80%):
- Custodial services such as general cleaning and room setups including but not limited to:
- Oversee work orders and calendar events, and respond in a timely manner
- Ensure that Chapel Pointe’s cleaning standards are being met by following all cleaning procedures
- Communicate when janitorial supplies are needed to the Director of Environments and Facilities
- Identify and communicate in writing to the Director of Projects and Maintenance the required maintenance and repairs outside the scope of custodial responsibilities
- Utilize appropriate building management and task management systems as needed
- Responsible for room changeovers including but not limited to table/chair setups
- Assist with snow removal at the building entrances
- Utilize proper equipment/machinery including but not limited to carpet extractors, floor scrubbers, etc.
- Ensure that all grounds meet Chapel Pointe standards including most landscaping needs, with the assistance of volunteers
Volunteers (20%):
- Connect, Build and manage teams of Volunteers to assist with set-ups, cleaning, grounds, schedules and other responsibilities as they arise
- Perform related duties and special assignments as required by the Director of Environments and Facilities

Qualifications
- Basic experience with cleaning and custodial operations
- Basic maintenance skills are a plus
- Valid Michigan driver’s license
- Able to move, carry, push/pull or lift up to 50 pounds; stand, walk, bend, climb up to 8 hours daily
- Positive attitude, good work ethic, and works well in a team environment with minimal supervision
- Ability to make decisions, act independently, exercise a high degree of initiative, and communicate effectively with staff, members, and guests
