Job Summary: Chapin is seeking an experienced National Account Manager to drive business development and sales growth. As a National Account Manager, you will build relationships with key accounts, increase sales and profitability, and promote the Chapin brand and products. This role has the potential to become Director of Sales for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and address customer needs through proactive networking
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure long-term success
- Act as a liaison between customers and internal teams to meet client requirements
- Identify and attract strategic customers to grow sales
- Ensure brand consistency across all customer interactions
- Negotiate contracts and agreements
- Analyze sales data and trends to inform business decisions
- Maintain high customer satisfaction ratings according to company standards
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing departments to develop strategies for new products
- Develop new business opportunities and increase existing sales through effective account management
- Conduct market analysis to identify opportunities to maximize profitability
- Stay up-to-date with market trends and competitor developments
- Present the Chapin value proposition directly to customers
- Develop and implement strategies to grow sales through multiple distribution channels
- Negotiate and manage distribution or supply agreements
- Manage pricing strategy for national accounts
- Develop and implement marketing plans with national accounts and suppliers
Requirements & Skills:
- Proven experience as a National Account Manager, preferably with large retail experience
- Strong sales and customer service skills
- Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- In-depth understanding of sales performance metrics
- Experience with CRM software and MS Office products
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Availability to travel approximately 50% of the time
- Proactive, self-motivated, and driven
- Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to influence stakeholders and decision-makers
- Hybrid position with mostly remote work
