JOB TITLE : Employment and Education Specialist EMPLOYER : Chapman Partnership

SUMMARY : Coordinates job development activities for designated Center. Assists residents in developing resumes, interviewing skills, and other aids in finding employment. Works with the Community Employment Specialist to match verifiable job orders for permanent (as opposed to day labor) positions that may be accessed by residents or Case Managers on their behalf. If needed, arranges interviews and transportation to interviews, and performs follow up activities to verify continued employment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Complete employability assessments to determine job readiness, barriers to employment, and training needs for in-sgelter and community clients.
- Generate monthly reports for Chapman Partnership. Document all resident contacts in HMIS.
- Aid residents with resume writing, job readiness, interviewing preparations and other services to overcome barriers to employment.
- Arrange transportation for interviews and conduct follow up activities to verify continued employment.
- Support educational initiatives through client recruitment, enrollment and tracking of outcomes.
- Facilitate and conduct professional development and work readiness workshops.
- Performs other assignments or tasks as deemed necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor’s degree in Social Services, Human Services, or related field from an accredited College orUniversity or additional equivalent experience.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in job development for hard to serve population
Valid driver license (State of Florida) and clean driving record.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :
Ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships with public and private agencies, thegeneral public and clients.
Overall understanding of the issues affecting our residents.
Experience working with vulnerable populations.
Ability to be professional, flexible, respectful, and calm.
Ability to lead by example.
Ability to provide effective support and guidance to further develop professionals within the ProgramServices department.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Computer Literate.
Bilingual in English and Spanish and / or English and Creole preferred.
