What are the responsibilities and job description for the Library Assistant II, Circulation (30-hour) position at chapman?
Within the Access Services Division, the Library Assistant II will perform the public service aspects of the Circulation Department. Provide student, staff, faculty and community patron assistance, including responding to in-person, telephone and email inquiries. Use the library system (Sierra) to check in/out library items including books, media, reserves and bookable rooms. Collect fines, resolve disputes or negotiate acceptable resolutions. Monitor stacks and conduct stacks maintenance including shelving, shifting and arranging of library materials.Perform patron registration and data entry. Conduct basic troubleshooting of photocopiers, printers and microform machines. Direct tasks of student employees. Open and/or close building. Process course reserve requests and manage circulation search card and librarian review databases. Provide support to Interlibrary Loan services by assisting with document delivery, processing requests and answering inquires. Perform other duties as assigned to further the efficiency and services of the Leatherby Libraries.
