The Patrol Officer is a non-exempt, full-time staff position which assists management within the Public Safety department.This position is scheduled to work a 4/10 alternative work schedule and operates on a rotation schedule, with evenings, weekends, and on-call rotation duties.This position could be assigned to any patrol location we are responsible for such as our Irvine campus, Orange campus, or residential facility in Anaheim.The Public Safety Patrol Officer ensures safety by patrolling campus by motor vehicle, by foot, ESV and/or by bicycle providing protection of life and property.The Officer keeps the peace, conducts investigations, submits reports, enforces parking laws, and responds to medical emergencies and illness calls.Updates daily activity logs as needed and in a timely manner; completes written incident and investigative reports in a timely, clear, and well-written manner.In addition to reports, the position is responsible for compliance and training.This position gives directions and assistance to faculty, staff, students, and visitors.The position performs any other duties as needed or assigned to accomplish the mission of the Public Safety Department.
