Provide general administrative and office support to other positions engaged in research compliance activities with human and animal subjects. The University’s research is very cross-disciplinary, from social science to oncology. Such research is often federally funded and demands regulatory compliance with laws, rules, policies, and procedures. The IRB/IACUC student assistant is a highly visible position which assists both the IRB (Institutional Review Board) and IACUC (Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee) administrators in day-to-day operations and implementing of the workflow related to research compliance. The job requires handling sensitive and confidential information while guiding faculty, staff, and students who are submitting protocols. This includes answering questions knowledgeably and working with members of the committees to ensure they have timely, comprehensible, and consistent materials. Training will be provided to ensure that the student is able to independently complete tasks accurately.
