Summary of Position:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Director of Culinary for our Assisted Living community. The Director of Culinary will be responsible for managing the overall culinary program, ensuring high-quality meals, and exceptional dining experiences for our residents.
Job Duties:
- Oversee and manage all culinary aspects of the assisted living community, including menu planning, food preparation, and delivery.
- Ensure that all meals are prepared and presented to a high standard, and in compliance with all dietary requirements and restrictions.
- Develop and implement innovative menus that are tailored to the tastes and preferences of our residents.
- Manage the kitchen staff, including training, supervision, and performance evaluation.
- Ensure that all kitchen operations are in compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local suppliers to ensure the availability of fresh and high-quality ingredients.
- Work closely with the community management team to ensure that the dining experience is aligned with the overall community culture and mission.
- Monitor and manage the culinary budget, including food costs, labor costs, and other related expenses.
- Attend meetings and participate in continuing education opportunities to stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in culinary management, preferably in the healthcare or assisted living industry.
- Strong culinary skills, including menu planning, recipe development, and food presentation.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations, and experience with compliance inspections.
- Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and supervise a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff members.
- Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and culinary software.
