About the Role
Character.ai is looking for a talented and motivated Backend Engineer to be a founding member of our Monetization team. You will be responsible for building and maintaining scalable, high-performance backend systems that power our monetization infrastructure, including payments, subscriptions, and revenue optimization. Collaborating with designers, data science, and ML researchers, you'll play a key role in conceptualizing, designing, and delivering groundbreaking AI experiences that drive our monetization efforts.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services for our monetization platforms, including payments, subscription management, and advertising.
- Implement secure and efficient APIs to support frontend applications and third-party integrations.
- Optimize and enhance revenue-related workflows, including billing, invoicing, and fraud detection.
- Work closely with product managers, data analysts, and frontend engineers to design monetization strategies that align with business goals.
- Ensure high availability and reliability of payment processing systems.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements to optimize efficiency and scalability.
- Maintain security best practices to protect user data and prevent fraud.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies in fintech, payments, and monetization.
