GENERAL AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE TECHNICIAN
SUMMARY:
The General Automotive Service Technician is responsible for servicing vehicles as assigned by the shop manager while following all established guidelines according to the standard operating procedures. The General Automotive Service Technician is an integral part of a fast-paced team environment possessing a positive attitude and the ability to deliver exceptional customer service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Able to perform general automotive services such as oil changes, checking tire pressure and condition.
- Checking and changing if needed windshield wiper, power steering and brake fluid as well as transmission fluid and engine coolant.
- Familiar with tire mounting and balancing
- Able to perform multi-point inspections
- Able to assist mechanics with repairs
- General shop maintenance
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Self-motivated with strong work ethic
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Drivers License and good driving record is necessary
- Prior experience in automotive industry, 2 years is strongly preferred
- Excellent verbal communication and mechanical skills
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to be flexible with task assignments and respond to the needs of the shop operations team
- Ability to work independently but also as part of a larger team to meet the objective of servicing the customer and vehicle
