Charger Logistics Inc.is currently looking for a Safety Coordinator with Driver recruitment experience to join our team in Dallas, TX. The main responsibility for this position will be to provide support and training to drivers. The person in this position will work in a fast paced environment and will work closely with the safety and compliance department.
Job Duties:
- Driver Recruitment:
- Sourcing & Recruiting: Proactively source, screen, and recruit qualified drivers to meet the company's needs. This includes posting job ads, attending job fairs.
- Screening: Conduct interviews, background checks, driving record reviews, and other necessary screening processes to ensure candidates meet the company's hiring standards.
- Onboarding: Coordinate the onboarding process for new drivers, including the completion of required paperwork, compliance checks, and orientation.
- Retention: Develop and implement strategies to retain drivers and reduce turnover, including performance reviews, recognition programs, and continuous engagement.
- Safety Coordination:
- Safety Policies & Procedures: Develop, implement, and maintain safety protocols for drivers, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA standards.
- Training & Education: Conduct safety training and workshops for all drivers on topics like defensive driving, accident prevention, company safety policies, and OSHA regulations.
- OSHA Compliance: Ensure the company and drivers comply with all OSHA regulations, including safe operation of vehicles, warehouse safety, personal protective equipment (PPE), and other safety protocols.
- Incident Investigation: Respond to accidents or safety-related incidents, conduct thorough investigations, and ensure proper documentation and reporting, in compliance with OSHA and company policies.
- Safety Compliance: Monitor compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, including Hours of Service (HOS), vehicle inspections, and drug/alcohol testing policies.
- Reporting & Documentation: Maintain records of safety training, OSHA compliance, incidents, and driver safety performance. Generate regular reports to management on safety-related issues.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify trends in safety data, propose initiatives to improve driver safety, and collaborate with management to enhance safety protocols and foster a culture of safety.
- 2 years in safety & training (transportation industry preferred).
- Previous experience in driver training, recruitment and safety & compliance is an asset.
- Experience hiring drivers out of different states within the US is a must.
- Safety driven with expertise in HOS, DOT regulations, and driver welfare.
- Must have solid understanding of the trucking industry.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
