Mission
Chariot, formerly Drive a Senior Central Texas enriches lives and communities by providing transportation and socialization to non-driving seniors, helping them to age in place. The majority of our rides are provided by our team of volunteer drivers who utilize their personal vehicles to transport clients to medical, dental, and vision care appointments, and other essential services. We also offer group rides in our vans/bus to grocery stores, senior activity centers, exercise classes a other activities utilizing paid drivers.
Description
The Chariot Service Coordinator is the first point of contact and the daily
representation of our service and commitment to providing our clients and volunteers excellent customer service. The Service Coordinator answers our central phone line, schedules and manages rides, does intakes on both clients and volunteers, trains volunteers, and ensures client and volunteer compliance.
Responsibilities
The Service Coordinator position is multi-faceted, and each Service Coordinator is assigned specific duties from the responsibilities listed below.
1. Service Scheduling Responsibilities
- Manage all incoming phone and email messages, and respond promptly to
Client/Volunteer inquiries, concerns, and requests. Refer clients to other services as
needed. - Schedule individual and group rides utilizing an online scheduling system.
- Maintain Client/Volunteer Database
- Communicate regularly with staff, volunteers, and clients
- Complete Satisfaction/Engagement surveys and pending ride notifications
- Send out ride notifications per the defined schedule across all service areas
- Serve as primary contact for the ride notifications and pending ride report
- Other duties as assigned
2. Data and Reporting Compliance
- Gather missing forms and data from clients and volunteers
- Perform data audits to ensure client and volunteer data records are complete and
accurate including updated driver forms, demographics, and emergency contacts - Provide data reports for the board of directors as requested
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skills
- Excellent phone and customer service skills
- Proficiency with Office software, Google platform, and ability to manage ride
schedule database - Demonstrate ability to organize and execute prioritized goals and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a home office virtual
environment
Experience
- Minimum of two years of customer service experience
- Proficiency in computer, and smartphone applications
- Interest in and appreciation for working with older adults or non-profit experience helpful
Location
This position is based in Austin, Texas (Only candidates residing within the Austin
and surrounding areas will be considered). Employees work remotely. Occasional staff
meetings and organizational events will require in-person. In-person meetings and events
will be held on occasion.
Compensation and Hours
- $18 to $22 per hourly rate based on qualifications and experience
- 20-25 hours/week (9 AM to 2 pm, Monday – Friday with every other Friday off)
