No trauma designation
Beds : 10 M / S, 5 Tele, 4 ED
Experience : RN : 1 year of experience – Telemetry Level RN, CNA : 1 year Acute Care CNA experience required
Will you accept a first-time traveler? RN : Yes, CNA : Yes
Patient Types : Age ranges include : Adolescents to Geriatrics
Common diagnoses : abdominal pain, GI / GU complaints, CHF, chest pain, COPD, respiratory illnesses, seizures, ETOH withdrawal, post-op
Skills required : Cardiac Rhythm interpretation, Insulin gtts, Cardiac gtts, central lines, BiPaps, traches, chest tubes, wound care, initiation of blood products, CIWA protocol
Patient Ratios : RN – 1 : 5, both shifts, acuity dependent (normally very low acuity patients), CNA – 1 : 10, both shifts (Extended Care Swing Unit)
Support on the Unit : Charge nurse : Yes, carries patient assignment, Phlebotomy? yes, House manager assists with patient care if on duty, Nurse Manager – carries patient assignment if on duty and available, No RTs in hospital
Charting System / Equipment : CERNER, Alaris IV Pumps, Pyxis med dispensing, GE Monitors, Hamilton T1 Ventilators, LifePak 20 Defibrillators, Cerner Patient Observation Cameras
Floating : No floating
Orientation : No hospital orientation. They orient on the unit 1-2 days, based on needs / comfortability
