The Field Hockey Coach will be responsible for developing and implementing effective coaching programs that focus on skill development, practice planning, and supervision of all levels of the sport. The coach will also be responsible for communicating with student-athletes, parents, and administration to ensure a positive and supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement coaching programs that meet the needs of student-athletes
* Plan and conduct practices that promote skill development and teamwork
* Supervise assistant coaches and assign their respective duties
* Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, and administration
* Evaluate student-athletes and provide feedback on their performance
* Maintain accurate records of player eligibility, attendance, and progress
Requirements and Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree or higher in Education or related field
* Maryland certification as a professional educator
* MPSSAA/MSDE Coaching Certification
* Two years of successful coaching experience
* Previous experience working with student-athletes from diverse backgrounds
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate light to medium weights (10-50 pounds). The employee must also have good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp and visual acuity to use a keyboard. The employee frequently sits, reaches with hands and arms, talks, and hears.
