Description
POSITION SUMMARY: Staff Accountant II has responsibility over operations of the accounting function. Initiates and makes recommendations on improvements in accounting operation.
POSITION-SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists the Controller in accounting for, and reporting on, all financial transactions
- Assist with monthly posting and reconciliation of assigned transactions
- Prepare monthly journal entries as assigned
- Overseas the deposit and control of cash management, including cash flow reports
- Assist in payroll processing
- Prepares reconciliation of monthly bank statements and investment accounts
- Responsible for the fiscal management of all city, county, state and federal grants
- Prepares journal vouchers covering non-cash transactions (depreciation, accrues interest, expired insurance, adjustments to previous entries, accounts receivables and reimbursements, etc.)
- Perform monthly posting and reconciliation of assigned general ledger transactions
- Assist in preparing the UDS, Medicare and Medicaid cost reports
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
- Licensure: N.A.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years
- Expertise: computer operations, including Word and Excel
- Language: English
- Hours of Work: 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday - Friday
- Travel: Local
