Description
The Development Database Associate is responsible for the management and maintenance of the Raiser's Edge NXT database, ensuring accurate and efficient gift processing, data reporting, benchmarking, and providing administrative support for the Development Department. This position will also support the Development team with programmatic needs, assisting with data-related inquiries, and contributing to the overall success of fundraising initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Database Management:
- Maintain and update Raiser's Edge NXT database to ensure accurate and timely entry of donor and gift information.
- Oversee data integrity, cleanliness, and consistency, implementing best practices for data management.
- Generate donor profiles, queries, and reports for fundraising activities, ensuring alignment with organizational needs.
- Track and report on fundraising progress using Raiser's Edge NXT, providing leadership with insights into giving trends and campaign performance.
Gift Processing and Acknowledgment:
- Process all incoming donations in Raiser's Edge NXT, ensuring accurate coding and donor recognition.
- Ensure timely and accurate donor acknowledgments, receipts, and recognition letters in accordance with IRS regulations and school policies.
- Coordinate with the finance department to ensure proper reconciliation between the Development database and accounting records.
Data Reporting and Benchmarking:
- Produce regular reports on donor giving patterns, campaign progress, and trends to inform Development strategies.
- Assist in benchmarking efforts by generating comparative data, tracking giving levels, and analyzing donor retention and acquisition metrics.
- Work with the Director of Development and other team members to assess fundraising performance against set goals.
Program Support:
- Provide administrative support to the Development team, including scheduling, event coordination, and other tasks as needed.
- Assist in maintaining and preparing materials for development events, including donor stewardship and cultivation efforts.
- Support the execution of direct mail, annual campaigns, and fundraising initiatives, ensuring smooth data management throughout.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist with the generation of reports for board meetings, donor communications, and annual reports.
- Support various donor stewardship initiatives, including coordinating gift acknowledgment schedules and donor recognition programs.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive donor and school information with discretion.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with Raiser's Edge NXT or similar fundraising/database systems.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of nonprofit fundraising practices and data management.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time, non-exempt position.
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required for events or special projects.
