Position Summary

The Pump Technician is responsible for disassembling, inspecting, and rebuilding pumps and process equipment for the water and wastewater industry. This role requires strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and collaboration with machinists and engineers to ensure high-quality repairs.

Key Responsibilities

· Disassemble, inspect, document findings and repair pumps and related equipment

· Read blueprints and technical documents to carry out repairs accurately

· Ensure all work is performed with attention to quality, safety, and efficiency

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace

· Record all work performed and materials used accurately

· Collaborate with machinists, fabricators, engineers, and technicians to solve problems

Qualifications

· High school diploma or GED required

· Hands-on experience in pump repair and mechanical systems

· Proficiency in using measuring tools and writing inspection summaries

Physical Requirements

· Ability to stand or walk for extended periods (up to 4 hours between breaks)

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and operate cranes and forklifts for heavier objects

· Ability to work with hands and arms in physical tasks and stand, bend, and walk for extended periods

· Comfortable working in noisy and dusty conditions typical of a fabrication environment

· Perform responsibilities of the role during shop hours of M-F 7am to 5pm
