Job Summary:. The Sales & Event Manager is responsible for the successful sale and service of private charters. This position will focus primarily on the sale of groups of 40 or higher end events with emphasis on the harbor vessels including Lexington, Valiant, and Hope. All managers handle corporate, social, and university events.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the successful sale and service of private charters for groups of 40 or higher end events with emphasis on the harbor vessels including Lexington, Valiant, and Hope. All managers handle corporate, social, and university events.
- Respond promptly to incoming inquiries
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of events from conception to completion.
- Prepare proposals, contracts, and other sales documentation as needed.
- Work directly with senior team members to take over planning for any clients.
- Maintain appropriate balance of servicing booked clients and prospecting for new business
- Assist clients with menu planning, bar service, event setup, and entertainment when requested.
- Work closely with operations staff and onboard crew to ensure proper vessel preparations and event details prior to charter
- Oversee onsite events which includes welcoming group contact upon arrival and ensuring guest satisfaction, along with assisting with set-up as needed.
- Ride onboard as crew or cruise supervisor when necessary. This includes daytime and evening events. During the training process, it is required to ride onboard events as a crew member.
- Engage in site visits and other client meetings
- Work as manager on duty weekend days and evenings on a rotating basis to cover public cruises and private events.
- Assist with the ticketbooth, public tours and administrative tasks when needed.
Job Requirements
- 3 Years of hospitality and/or event planning experience . Experience in a hotel, wedding venue, or catering company is preferred, but not required.
- 1 Years of sales experience
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Self-motivated and able to work as an individual and as part of a team
- Must enjoy working outdoors and onsite events.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work nights and weekends.
- Required to have a negative result for a USCG mandated DOT pre-employment drug test with random drug testing as a member of consortium throughout employment with company.
Salary : $60,000 - $65,000
