Essential Duties And Responsibilities
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Charles River is committed to helping our partners expedite their preclinical drug development with exceptional safety assessment services, state-of-the-art facilities and expert regulatory guidance. From individual specialty toxicology and IND enabling studies to tailored packages and total laboratory support, our deeply experienced team can design and execute programs that anticipate challenges and avoid roadblocks for a smooth, efficient journey to market. Each year approximately 300 investigational new drug (IND) programs are conducted in our Safety Assessment facilities.

Job Summary

- Obtain and maintain on the job training necessary for the performance of activities.
- Observe and perform basic laboratory procedures and collect and record/document research data in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), study protocols and company policies/practices.
- Display an ability to complete necessary system and regulatory documentation.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and actively participate in safety trainings.
- Strong communication skills for cross departmental function.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- May regularly operate a computer and occasionally operate other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
- Must regularly communicate with employees/customers; must be able to exchange accurate information.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, climb, kneel, crouch or crawl, and use hands to handle, finger or feel objects, tools or controls.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to wear protective clothing (goggles, face shield, surgical mask, respirator, cap, gloves, scrubs, boots).
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to work with and/or near moving mechanical parts, sharp objects, toxic or caustic chemicals and biohazards, and live animals with risk of exposure to allergens and/or zoonotic diseases.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, unpleasant odors, wet, humid and/or extreme temperature conditions, and risk of electrical shock.
- The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00 per hour. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor or Associate’s educational program.
- Experience: Completed coursework aligned with essential functions of the role.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
- Other: Must possess effective written and oral communication skills. Must display a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a results-oriented and challenging environment.
- Effective presentation and team collaboration skills.
- Ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
- Proven people/project leadership throughout your academic career. Leadership skills on-campus and off-campus are applicable.
- Previous experiences on-campus or off-campus. (Academic Clubs, Internships, Co-Ops, Summer Jobs, and/or Employment)
