Job Summary
The following are responsibilities related to the Animal Care Technician III position :
- Review, comprehend and comply with all SOP's and quality assurance standards pertaining to specific area.
- Provides technical and husbandry support for rodents within the facilities.
- Ensure that proper veterinary care and treatment for animals is maintained and records are documented completely
- Conduct daily health assessments as needed and report findings to the Clinical Veterinarian.
- Administer drugs or treatments to animals as directed.
- Ensure that proper veterinary care and treatment for animals is maintained, and records are documented completely.
- Interface with research staff to assist with logistics and scheduling of projects and conduct research and laboratory support services as directed.
- Perform techniques such as tissue biopsy, identification, gavage, oral dosing, injection routes, blood withdrawal routes, necropsies and euthanasia and disposal, etc.
- Assists with training and mentoring of other staff members.
