Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized Church Operations Assistant to support our Director of Operations in managing the complex operational aspects of RIG California. This role will coordinate administrative functions, project management, and volunteer coordination to ensure our church operations run with excellence as we grow and expand our ministry. The ideal candidate will help implement our vision of building "a vibrant, Spirit-filled apostolic base that will cultivate, empower, and impact revival in California."

Hours & Compensation
● Part-time (20 hours/week)
● $2,000 monthly compensation
● Potential to transition to full-time based on church growth
● In-person role based in Santa Ana
● Required Sunday availability (church service hours: 3:45-6:00 PM)
● Flexibility for evening events, conferences, and special projects
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
● Coordinate multi-phase projects like our Church Move In initiative, managing timelines, deliverables, and resources
● Track progress on major projects using project management tools and maintain comprehensive task lists
● Ensure deadlines are met by following up with team members and providing regular status updates
● Create and distribute progress reports to leadership
● Identify potential roadblocks and propose solutions
Facility & Logistics Coordination
● Assist with facility coordination including vendor management and space preparation
● Support logistics for special events, building transitions, and church expansion
● Coordinate with external vendors for services, equipment, and supplies
● Help manage building-related tasks like permits, safety inspections, and maintenance
● Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment
Meeting Management
● Coordinate and facilitate L10 meetings with servant leaders and ministry teams
● Prepare meeting materials, agendas, and supporting documentation
● Document meeting outcomes with detailed minutes and action items
● Provide real-time administrative support during leadership meetings
● Ensure follow-through on meeting decisions and commitments
Volunteer (Servant Leader) Management
● Serve as the primary point of contact for servant leaders across ministries
● Develop and maintain volunteer schedules, team rosters, and leadership lists
● Track progress on quarterly goals ("rocks") and weekly action items
● Coordinate volunteer training sessions and team development
● Ensure all required documentation is submitted to Notion in a timely manner
● Maintain communication between leadership and volunteer teams
Marketing & Communication Support
● Assist with implementing physical and digital promotional strategies
● Coordinate production of church signage, branding materials, and print collateral
● Support social media content planning and execution
● Help maintain consistent branding across all church communications
● Assist with RSVP and registration systems for events
Systems Administration
● Maintain and optimize the church's Notion database and digital filing systems
● Document and standardize operational procedures
● Support implementation of the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS)
● Ensure all operational systems function effectively and efficiently
● Propose improvements to existing processes and workflows
Administrative Support
● Provide direct administrative assistance to the Director of Operations
● Perform ad-hoc tasks to support leadership and ministry initiatives
● Maintain awareness of all ground-level operations and activities
● Process administrative paperwork, including liability insurance and legal documents
● Help coordinate tech and production equipment needs
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience
● Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
● Proven project management abilities with experience coordinating multiple deadlines
● Proficiency with digital tools and databases (Notion experience preferred)
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills
● 1-2 years experience in operations, administration, or volunteer management
● Understanding of (or willingness to learn) the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS)
● Self-starter who can work independently while following established processes
● Comfort with both digital and in-person communication
Technical Skills

This position begins as an Operations Assistant working directly under Charles Romer, our Director of Operations, but offers a clear pathway to leadership for the right candidate.
What This Role Looks Like Day-to-Day
As our Operations Assistant, you'll become immersed in all aspects of church operations—from facility management and volunteer coordination to project management and administrative systems. Your typical week might include:
● Working in-person at our office from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM Monday through Friday
● Attending Tuesday evening Growth Groups at 6:00 PM to support logistics and leadership
● Serving during Sunday services (3:45-6:00 PM) to ensure smooth operations
● Managing our digital infrastructure through Notion and other platforms
● Coordinating directly with ministry leaders and volunteers to execute operational plans
The Growth Opportunity
For the right candidate, this role offers significant growth potential. Our intention is to discover our future Operations Manager through this position. Based on performance, leadership abilities, and cultural fit, we anticipate the opportunity to promote this position to full-time status within 2-9 months.
As you demonstrate your capabilities, responsibilities will expand accordingly. You'll receive direction and training from the leadership team members to develop your operational skills and leadership capacity. Immediate Impact - The Church Move Project
Your first major challenge will be supporting our March 2025 church move project. This comprehensive initiative involves transitioning to our new facility with excellence and impact. You'll help coordinate:
● Facility readiness and setup
● Volunteer team coordination
● Marketing and community outreach efforts
● Logistics for our soft launch (March 16) and grand launch (April 6)
