What Does This Role Look Like

At RIG California, we're looking for more than just an employee—we're seeking a mission-driven individual who wants to grow with us as we expand our ministry impact. This position begins as an Operations Assistant working directly under Charles Romer, our Director of Operations, but offers a clear pathway to leadership for the right candidate.

What This Role Looks Like Day-to-Day

As our Operations Assistant, you'll become immersed in all aspects of church operations—from facility management and volunteer coordination to project management and administrative systems. Your typical week might include:

● Working in-person at our office from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM Monday through Friday

● Attending Tuesday evening Growth Groups at 6:00 PM to support logistics and leadership

● Serving during Sunday services (3:45-6:00 PM) to ensure smooth operations

● Managing our digital infrastructure through Notion and other platforms

● Coordinating directly with ministry leaders and volunteers to execute operational plans

The Growth Opportunity

For the right candidate, this role offers significant growth potential. Our intention is to discover our future Operations Manager through this position. Based on performance, leadership abilities, and cultural fit, we anticipate the opportunity to promote this position to full-time status within 2-9 months.

As you demonstrate your capabilities, responsibilities will expand accordingly. You'll receive direction and training from the leadership team members to develop your operational skills and leadership capacity. We're investing in this role because we believe solid operations are the foundation for effective ministry.

Immediate Impact - The Church Move Project

Your first major challenge will be supporting our March 2025 church move project. This comprehensive initiative involves transitioning to our new facility with excellence and impact. You'll help coordinate:

● Facility readiness and setup

● Volunteer team coordination

● Marketing and community outreach efforts

● Logistics for our soft launch (March 16) and grand launch (April 6)

This project is a defining moment for RIG California as we establish our new home, and it presents an excellent opportunity for you to demonstrate your organizational and leadership abilities from day one.

Who Will Thrive in This Role

The ideal candidate will be someone who:

● Sees church operations as ministry, not just administration

● Thrives in dynamic environments where flexibility and problem-solving are essential

● Takes ownership of projects and follows through with excellence

● Communicates effectively with diverse groups—from volunteers to vendors to leadership

● Has a heart for revival and understands how operational excellence supports spiritual impact
