Ross Engineering is an 180-year old & growing company that produces Unique and Custom Industrial Mixers used by companies all over the world for the manufacturing of paints, inks, chemicals, foods and pharmaceuticals.
This Location is in Savannah GA and employs approximately 40 people operating one daytime shift M-F.
Ross also has locations in Long Island New York, and Port St. Lucie FL.

Job Description:
- Ability to work under minimal supervision, sets up and operates manually controlled machines using precision skills
- Properly and safely selects, aligns, secures and removes holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials onto machines.
- Uses gauges and instruments to meet tolerance requirements*Tracks job materials, parts, and labor legibly, correctly and timely.
- Physical requirements: lift 35 lbs., stand for long periods of time, kneel, climb
- Understand basic math principles, including using decimals and fractions.
- Work from sketches or verbal instructions in fabricating and assembling completely to exacting tolerances small intricate assemblies, requiring extreme care to insure proper adjustments, clearances, alignments and coordination.
- As required, perform hand and honing operations on surfaces, bores and pivots to finest tolerances and surface specifications.
- Perform rework wherein the operations are essentially the same as required for the work described above.
Required/Recommended Skills:
- Must possess a complete knowledge of machine shop theory, practice and procedure; advanced shop mathematics.
- Use precision measuring instruments to verify in-process hardware to required tolerances and dimensions.
- Have a good knowledge of sheet metal operations.
- Must be able to set-up completely and operate all basic types of machine tools, as required.
- Ability to apply a comprehensive knowledge of shop techniques necessary to work metals to required specifications without conventional tooling, when required.
- To read and interpret complex engineering blueprints and assembly drawings.
- To work from incomplete engineering verbal, written and sketch information.
- Must have considerable knowledge of the machining qualities, properties, and uses of various metals such as the following: aluminum, brass, steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other exotic metals
- High School Diploma or GED.
