Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Montessori Lead Early Childhood Guide to join our team. As a Montessori Lead Guide, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes the physical, emotional, and intellectual development of our students ages 3- 6 years old. This is a 10 month, full-time position.
Expectations:
- · Establish the morning and academic afternoon work periods and give lessons as needed.
· Establish and maintain the prepared classroom environment true to the Montessori philosophy, paying particular attention to the needs of students.
· Implement and update curriculum as student needs dictate.
· Plan, prepare, and maintain all units of study – including Montessori materials, thematic units, library books, etc.
· Facilitate a respectful environment for children and adults by advocating conflict resolution and Grace and Courtesy lessons.
· Train your classroom assistant to work in your classroom successfully.
· Collaborate with your assistant to support the students.
· Foster academic, social, and emotional wellbeing and growth for all students.
- Create a safe and engaging classroom environment that encourages exploration and independence
- Foster a love for learning through hands-on activities and interactive experiences
- Provide individualized attention and support to each child's unique needs and abilities
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive learning experience for all students
- Maintain accurate records of each child's progress and development
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's growth and milestones
- Implement effective classroom management techniques to promote positive behavior
Qualifications:
- AMI or AMS Montessori certification for the 3-6 age group
- Previous experience working with young children in a Montessori school
- Strong knowledge of Montessori principles, curriculum, and materials
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong classroom management and behavior management skills
