What are the responsibilities and job description for the Extended Day Program Assistant position at Charles Wright Academy?
Charles Wright Academy (CWA) is a co-educational, non-religious, independent school located in University Place, WA. Charles Wright Academy is located on a beautiful, green, and sprawling 107-acre campus that includes athletic fields and more than 60 acres of gorgeous Pacific Northwest forests that also serve as an extension of our proper academic campus. Our educational philosophy of experiential learning includes unique daily opportunities for wilderness exploration, hiking, birding, wildlife observations, gardening, nature habitat sketch subjects for art studies, local biological science exploration, conservation work, farming, and more.
- Assist in the running indoor and outside activities
- Support a welcoming, happy, and safe environment for all children
- Under the Lead’s direction, practice thoughtful, respectful, and effective behavior management, which supports respectful attitudes and behavior and promotes responsibility and self-management
- Seek direction and assistance from the Lead as necessary
- Maintain clean and orderly program areas
- Serve prepared snacks
- Represent Charles Wright Academy in a positive manner with all constituencies
- Must be able to constantly position self to accommodate the needs of children of the age group.
- Must be able to lift up to 30lbs
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Early Childhood training and/or experience in childcare, elementary education training or experience, and/or summer camp counselor experience
