This job is a great opportunity for students and graduates in the Charleston area who have previous work experience from summer jobs and internships or anyone who loves working with children.

In this position, we are hiring a Summer Camp Program Lead.

Who are we looking for?

• You are a friendly, motivated and reliable people person.
• You are a self-starter who can work with minimal supervision. You have attention to detail while promoting a fun work atmosphere.
• You are not afraid of providing instructions and ensure compliance in group
• You are not afraid of contacting & reporting problems to parents
• You are able to solve conflicts between campers
• You are a team player and can motivate your fellow camp counselors.
• You enjoy working with children. Our camp kids are 6-14 years old.
• You are very safety conscious (our customers swim in the lake).
• You are creative and can prepare and execute fun & engaging games with your camp kids.
• You are physically fit – able to bend, twist & turn with flexibility as you will be working outdoors on and around water and in varying weather conditions.

What are your tasks?

• As a Summer Camp Program Lead you are in charge of supervising groups of 5-20 children (together with other camp counselors).
• You work 5 days/week (Monday - Friday).
• You are punctual & show a good work ethic.
• You work out the weekly camp curriculum.
• You supervise your fellow camp counselors.
• Together with your team of camp counselors, you guide our summer camp participants through different activities as well as games and coach them as needed (e.g. on the wakeboard cable or on paddle boards).
• You help prepare and serve camp lunch.
• We also expect you to give us a hand with the maintenance of the site (clean facility, prepare and stow away gear) and to delegate tasks as needed.
• You participate in frequent safety drills as required and report problems to your supervisor.
• You need to be a proficient swimmer as some of the job activity takes place on the water.

Must have:

Experience with summer camps and/or children starting at the age of 6 years.

Nice to have:

A lifeguard certification and first aid certification are a nice to have. Applicants that are currently not holding lifeguard or first aid certifications will be trained on our premises.

Work period: June 2nd through August 8, 2025.

• 8 hour shift
• Afternoon shift
• Monday to Friday

• Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• First Aid Certification (Preferred)
• CPR Certification (Preferred)
