Surgical Tech Job Description
The Surgical Tech role at CAMC requires a dedicated individual to assist the operating room staff and provide support to physicians in delivering high-quality patient care under the supervision of a Clinical Nurse.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare the OR suite for surgical procedures in a timely and efficient manner.
- Practice aseptic and sterile techniques to maintain a clean environment.
- Apply cleaning techniques and participate in the operating room by handing instruments and supplies to the surgeon.
- Assist with applying dressings to incisions and clean and restock the assigned room.
- Participate in inservice training of new personnel and take call as assigned.
Requirements and Expectations:
- Maintain and document all required education, including certifications.
- Demonstrate positive customer service and co-worker relations.
- Comply with the company's attendance policy and perform work in a cost-effective manner.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement activities and align work with the organization's mission and strategic plan.
- Follow organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
Credentials and Education:
- High School Diploma or GED and Certificate in Surgical Technology (Required).
- 6 months of experience as a Surgical Technician (Preferred).
- BLS Certification within 30 days of hire.
