Description
Charleston County is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic project manager to join our team to assist in managing one of the largest municipal pavement management programs in the Southeast! This is a highly challenging, yet rewarding position, and the prospective team member needs to have determination matched with a positive attitude.
The principal function of this position is to manage the County Pavement Management & Preservation Program. Additionally, the position may manage a select number of TST Allocation and CTC transportation improvement projects from inception to completion ranging from $50,000 to $25 million.
HIRING SALARY RANGE : $85,508 to $125,000
- Hiring salary will be dependent upon applicant's education, experience, skill level, and other job specific qualifications

Duties and Responsibilities
Specific duties include :
Minimum Qualifications
Requirements : Five (5) years or more of increasing and responsible construction project / program management experience which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work. This includes a working knowledge of civil engineering, pavement engineering, asset management, GIS or related disciplines. A Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering related field, certification as Project Management Professional (PMP) and / or Certified Construction Manager (CCMA) is desired. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must have ability to communicate effectively and the ability to work under pressure within critical time frames on multiple projects. The ability to maintain effective relationships with contractors, consultants, state and municipal officials, and the public is essential. Experience with pavement management software, such as AgileAssets is preferred. A valid SC driver's license or the ability to obtain one upon acceptance of the position is required.
