Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for teaching Spanish to kindergarten through 4th Grade, incorporating speaking, writing, comprehension, oral communication, and culture.
- Develop and facilitate lesson plans that align with Charleston Day’s curriculum and educational philosophy.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and a love for learning.
- Integrate academics with the teaching of social and emotional skills in an active learning environment
- Develop and implement scaffolded lesson plans to meet each child where they are
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to students and parents.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance instructional practices and contribute to the school's community.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices.
- Responsible for performing all duties assigned such as carpool, lunch, study hall, etc.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Spanish, or related field
- Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience at the elementary level.
- Strong understanding of child development and diverse learning styles
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
