What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Services Coordinator position at Charleston-Kanawha Housing Authority?
Coordinate supportive services and other resident empowerment activities designed to help Charleston-Kanawha Housing Authority’s (CKHA) Public Housing residents attain greater self-sufficiency. These services should enable participating families to increase earned income, reduce or eliminate the need for welfare assistance, make progress toward achieving economic independence, educational goals, and housing self-sufficiency or, in the case of elderly or disabled residents, help improve living conditions and enable residents to age-in-place.
The Service Coordinator will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing programs and services for residents, connecting residents with needed resources, working with existing partners, and establishing new partnership to leverage additional resources and opportunities for residents. Provide direct resources to residents including life skills classes, educational and computer workshops, after school and summer camp programs for youth, general referrals, and other resources as needed. Responsibilities also include periodically evaluating program success, preparing program/grant reports, and assessing resident needs in developing new programs and policies
In the case of the Family Service Coordinator position, this is a grant-funded position for three years. Employment for this position is dependent upon continued grant funding and renewal is based upon results.
