Adjunct Professor of Mathematics
Description: The College of Science and Mathematics at Charleston Southern University invites applications for a Part-Time Adjunct Professor in the Mathematics Program. Part-time adjuncts are contracted term-by-term based on course/section need and availability. Charleston Southern seeks candidates who are professing Christians, committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. They should support the goals of a strong liberal arts education and be willing to explore with students the integration of faith and learning.
Responsibilities: Primary duties include conducting lecture classes, grading assignments and tests, classroom management, and submitting data on time as required by the institution (attendance, grades, etc.). The adjunct instructor would most likely teach an on-ground late afternoon/early evening course for 3 hours 1 day per week. For certain courses, hybrid delivery may also be an option.
Qualifications: This position requires a master’s degree in Mathematics, Math Education, or closely related field, with 18 credit hours of graduate-level mathematics courses. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching lower level and developmental mathematics.
