Position Overview:
Charleston Southern University is seeking an Admissions Coordinator who will work closely with the Dean and Program Directors to oversee program admissions, marketing, and to assist in admission-related program events. This is a 12-month full-time position that reports to the Dean, of the College of Health Sciences.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities vary by role and may include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinate communication with prospective students by answering questions, providing pre-professional advising as appropriate, and arranging and conducting building and campus tours.
- Prescreen applications and submit qualified applicants to the Admissions Committee.
- Coordinate and plan on campus interviews for students, including training and scheduling of all interviewers.
- Collect interview information and assist the Admissions Committee Chair in planning for and leading Admissions Committee meetings to make recommendations about candidates.
- Oversee the enrollment process for all accepted students, communicating with outside vendors, CSUs Financial Aid, Registrar and Student Account offices when necessary.
- Coordinate and oversee New Student Orientation and program recruiting events, such as Interest Meetings.
- Maintain admission guidelines by writing, updating, and recommending changes to admissions criteria, policies and procedures.
- Prepare admission reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
- Coordinate marketing for the program, which includes but is not limited to oversight of website, brochure development, and outreach to other institutions in the area.
- Support the planning and coordination of events related to the programs as necessary.
- Perform other duties as determined by the Program Directors and Dean as necessary.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree required with at least three years experience, preferably in an academic environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficiency with Microsoft office software; ability to learn other software relevant to duties.
Knowledge of customer service standards and ability to use them effectively with internal and external constituencies.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with faculty, administrators, students, staff, alumni, and the general public.
Ability to take initiative, plan, organize and accurately complete assignments without immediate and constant supervision.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of department records.
