Position Overview:
Reporting to the Athletic Director, the Assistant Athletic Director Facilities/Events is responsible for the day-to-day operations for athletics and facilities and ensuring successful operations for all athletic events. Additionally, the position will be responsible for the set up and tear down of CSU Athletic events, and aid all visiting teams, officials, and spectators at each programs respective events. The position is vital to leading, organizing, and maintaining the best possible environment for fans, players, coaches, officials, and guests.
Work Performed:
Primary responsibilities include day-to-day operations for all athletic events and facilities including repair and maintenance of athletic equipment, facility upgrades and projects. Serve as game day manager, ensuring field and facility is prepared and ready for competition and spectator use. Trains and schedules event staff. Liaison for visiting teams and officials. Responsible for locker room scheduling and laundry facilities. This position requires flexibility and working around athletic events which can occur during the day, evening and weekends. Outdoor work will be required based on athletic events.
Key Responsibilities:
The Assistant AD for Facilities/Events position is responsible for the leadership, supervision, and oversight of all CSU athletic facilities, as well as gameday operations. The position is critical in the maintenance, cleanliness, organization, and safety of facilities and athletic equipment, and oversight of all CSU athletic events. This position supervises the Assistant for Athletic Facilities/ Events and student employees.
Other duties may include but not limited to the following:
- Project manager for athletic facility upgrades and projects.
- Responsible for the repair and maintenance of athletic equipment, fields, courts, and facilities.
- Maintaining records of maintenance costs and budgeting annually.
- Schedule and supervise contracted workers and facility repairs.
- Use independent discretion to repair and maintain all assets of the Athletic Department
- Facilitate bids for all event rentals, equipment, capital, and non-capital projects.
- Determine if a facility is safe for use in practices and competition.
- Schedule locker room facilities for use.
- Maintain master calendar of facility use for both practice and competition.
- Oversee all external facility rental contracts with the University including oversight of event.
- Primary contact to visiting teams prior to arrival and on date of event.
- Provide visiting teams with towels as needed.
- Designated gameday manager at all home athletic events.
- Facilitate all event security needs with Campus Security and local law enforcement.
- Prepare all field and facilities for game day and events including set up and tear down.
- Work in coordination with Physical Plant, Security, EPI, Ticketing, Communications, Marketing, and all other Athletic Admin for event effectiveness.
- Scheduling and management of gameday staff both part-time and full-time staff.

Education:
Bachelor's degree required. Masters degree preferred.
Experience:
Applicants must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be computer literate with a working knowledge of Windows and MS Office, and the ability to quickly learn and work with new computer software systems. Applicants Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service. Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices. 35-years of experience in a related field is preferred.
