Position Overview
The Graduate Programs Manager plays a key role in supporting the administration of Charleston Southern University’s graduate business programs, ensuring smooth operations, effective communication, and a high level of service to students, faculty, and stakeholders. Reporting to the leadership of the College of Business, this position is responsible for managing the One-Year MBA program, overseeing student registrations and graduation processes, handling budget and financial transactions, coordinating guest speaker events, and assisting with recruitment and problem resolution for graduate students.
This position requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual who can manage multiple responsibilities efficiently, communicate effectively, and contribute to the growth and success of the graduate business programs
Key Responsibilities
Program Coordination & Student Services
• Serve as the primary point of contact for One-Year MBA students, ensuring smooth program operations.
• Coordinate the annual domestic business trip for One-Year MBA students, including travel logistics and budgeting.
• Register One-Year MBA students each semester and assist with course scheduling as needed.
• Process and track graduation applications for One-Year MBA students, ensuring timely submission and approval.
• Manage payment of graduation fees and assist students with administrative graduation-related tasks.
• Plan and facilitate bi-monthly guest speaker events, including room reservations, catering, and speaker arrangements.
• Oversee graduation coordination for the One-Year MBA program, ensuring a seamless experience for graduates.
Budget & Financial Management
• Manage financial transactions for the graduate business programs, including processing invoices and tracking expenses.
• Oversee BUSI 678 (SHRM CP Prep course) budget, ensuring appropriate allocation of funds.
• Monitor spending for One-Year MBA program meals, travel, and event expenses.
• Assist graduate director in creating and managing the graduate program budget, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance.
Recruitment & Student Support
• Provide general recruitment assistance for graduate programs, helping prospective students understand program requirements and benefits.
• Address student concerns and assist in resolving academic or administrative issues.
Administrative & Process Improvement
• Assist with registration coordination for other graduate programs, including Flex MBA, MAOL, and MS-HRM students.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive procedure and process document to ensure clarity and efficiency in program administration.
• Additional duties as assigned.

• Event Coordination – Ability to plan and execute meetings, guest speaker events, and travel arrangements for graduate programs.

• Technical Proficiency – Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and comfortable learning university systems.
• Team-Oriented – Ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, and leadership to ensure program success.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in graduate program administration or student services.
• Familiarity with higher education registration systems.
• Experience managing budgets and financial transactions.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in business, Higher Education Administration, or a related field.
• Two years of administrative experience, preferably in an academic setting.
• Additional appropriate work experience may be substituted on a two-for-one year basis of education.
• Additional related education may be substituted on a two-for-one year basis for work experience.
